All sections of this post must refer to a wasp or parts thereof.
All sections must refer to a tree, leaf, branch, root, or chloroplast within a tree’s leaf.
The wasp must not carry a satchel or wear a hat.
The wasp cannot wear an aloha shirt.
The wasp might wear a wig.
Once airborne, the wasp may ride any current of air or imagination that he might have the fortune to find, as this is his one and perhaps only prerogative as a wasp.
People are inconsequential.
Wasps are inconsequential.

Crammed in rivulets that creep up to the Ko‘olaus, men in their houses emerge from pinhole doors that open to the call of roosters nesting in rain forested bowers above. These men swarm down paved veins, each snug inside his flightless carapace, to tall buildings by the folding shore. The carapaces are of course cars, the houses galls.
When approaching its base, a volcano at rest resembles a snuffleupagus.
If we were to trace the travels of a wayward leaf, lost in the thrumming dark of a container ship that has set sail from an unknown port in Asia, we might detect the presence of the elusive ur-wasp, the size of a comma, tucked beneath the cuticle of an erythrina leaf. Note how our wasp sups happily, obliviously, at mesophyll, swept into a box of fruit or strings of lei, as she sails toward punctum mid vast ocean, which is where she will emerge from a hole precisely bored through the roof of her pleasure-dome, and with a test of wings, away.

It is this turn that has determined the fate of the wasp, the wasp who wears a wig like seaweed in hopes to disguise the balding.

The peaks of the mountains are those of men sleeping, condemned for crimes against women and gods. Their noses give them away. The walls of the valleys are arms of the anthropomorphized land. What consequence those who crawl along each crook and cicatrix?
Infestation is colonization, the cauliflower of sores provoked from beneath the cuticle of an erythrina leaf. Each gall grows in response to hormones that mimic those of the leaf’s own produced by larval wasps that know no more than how to sup, to savor stomata as if each were a small treasure, luxuriant, indiscriminate.
Each moment of an island day exists apart from allegory as it is only allegory. The mists that gather at the top of incised mountains, the corrugated face of the Ko‘olaus, the fine rains that fall in bowered valleys, glint of windshields, the wasp, green light as isinglass wing.
